Twenty-two years ago, the film The Roses Seller was released, which focuses on the life of a young woman who lives surrounded by an environment of abuse and drug addiction and who tries to get ahead selling roses. The filming was carried out in Medellín and had the participation of young people who lived in a situation similar to that of the story. After starring in the movie the roses seller, the actors were imprisoned, suffered from illnesses or even died.
Lady Tabares
Interpreted by Lady Tabares is the leading role in the Movie. Monica finds safety on the harsh streets of Medellin. Her mother has passed away, and when she seeks refuge with her relatives, she is almost sexually abused. She has nowhere to go but finds a group of girls in the same situation. Lady Tabares the woman who played Monica is 38 years old and lives in Medellín.
After the film, she returned to the streets to sell roses and received support from the Colombian audiovisual media to continue acting. However, her fate changed for her when she was accused of participating in a murder, an accusation for which she was sentenced to 26 years in prison. She always pleaded not guilty, and, in 2014, after 12 years of being detained, she received the benefit of house arrest.
Giovani Quiros

He moves into a dark world where revenge, robbery and death prevail. Giovani Quiroz, the young man who played the character of 'El Zarco' wanted to get away from the street and become an actor. So he got a scholarship to study in Spain.Days before travelling, he was assassinated in Medellín, apparently for drug dealers. "He left us due to two bullet wounds to his head that left him to brain dead," Lady wrote in a post.
Mileider Gil
Andrea is ten years old and is an unbeatable girl. Her mother can do nothing to control her. Andrea runs away from home after arguing with her mother and suffering abuse from her stepfather. In the Girls of the rose seller group, she finds a family with which she lives and learns to survive on the street. Mileider Gil played the character of Andrea and became famous thanks to her phrase: "I screwed it up in little things"(she said it herself when they asked her for money)
Which is now used in different memes on social media networks.After the production, she spent a year selling roses in downtown Medellín and then went to Bogotá for two years, looking for a future in acting. However, after going through many needs, she returned to the capital of Antioquia. She is currently 35 years old and lives with her eight-year-old son.
Marta Correa

Elkin Vargas
He plays Anderson, another of the street drug-selling kids who get into street fights with other drug dealers or the police. In the movie, he is Monica's boyfriend, but he is very flirtatious with other girls in the neighbourhood, so he gets in trouble too. After the film was released, the young man who played Monica's boyfriend was stabbed in 1998. As a result, he did not have the opportunity to spend time with his baby, which he had with Liliana Giraldo.
Liliana Giraldo
This woman played Claudia. During filming, she became pregnant by Elkin who played the character of Anderson. When her son was born, she left him with her mother, looking for better opportunities away from Medellín. After six years, she decided to return. According to 'La FM', when she saw her son, she noticed he had strange behaviours, so she took him to the doctor. The child was determined to have been abused and turned over to Family Welfare. Since then, Liliana has tried to get her son back. However, she did not hear from him again. "They stole it from me," she said.
Diana Murillo
The interpreter of 'La Cachetona' also managed to get off the streets after the film and tried a future in acting. However, her plans were unsuccessful, and she continued to sell roses in Medellín. She has a daughter named Luisa, who is about to turn 18. According to 'La FM', Diana is dedicated to giving acting classes to children.
Alex Bedoya
In the film, he played Milton, one of the children who sold drugs on the street. He also consumed a substance from the glue that made him hallucinate. For example, he hallucinates that other people are attacking him. In real life, his life slowly faded due to cancer that consumed his body when he was 17. He is the father of Diana Murillo's first child, 'La cachetona'. one of the actresses in the film.
